Curling is back, autumn is just around the corner and that means we’re ready for another year of curling camp!

Preparation is nearly complete for the Team Homan Junior Curling Camp and soon 80 campers will descend on the Ottawa Curling Club for our fourth year of fun and learning.

This year we were blown away by the fact that camp sold out in less than 40 minutes and that over half of our campers are returning from previous seasons! Our waiting list also has over 40 junior curlers on it!

We’re thrilled to have partnering with us this season to help provide an even better experience for our campers. Campers will notice new presentations, including a session devoted to nutrition, more swag, updated content and again plenty of one-on-one time with myself, Rachel, Joanne and Lisa. Our campers will once again get to work with current and past support staff who have helped us become one of the best teams in the world.

As we prepare through these final days before camp we wanted to share some resources for the curlers who couldn’t make it this year. Junior curlers and parents or coaches of junior curlers can find the Fuel Up for Fun resource for free online here. This will be one of the many pieces of knowledge we’ll be sharing with our campers this upcoming weekend. We’ll also be posting daily updates to our website to inform parents and others about our camp so be sure to check in over the weekend.

We’re delighted that Brett Gallant from Team Gushue can join us for the weekend and pass along his knowledge and enthusiasm with our campers. Not only is Brett a two-time Brier, World Champion and Canadian Mixed Doubles Champion, he also still holds the record for the most wins for any curler at the Canadian Junior Curling Championship.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks getting back on the ice for training, competing in the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic, all the while making sure of the finishing touches for our annual camp. Now it’s time to get back to folding camper t-shirts, printing accreditation badges and signing team cards for our camper welcome kits!

See you at camp!
