We competed in Las Vegas last week for one of the season’s most exciting events.

The 2019 World Financial Group Continental Cup was held January 17-20.  It was our fifth Continental Cup representing Team North America.

The event featured traditional games, mixed doubles, mixed, skins and the new team scramble.

Team North America got off to a slow start but managed to make it very interesting right until the last draw. Team World was able to prevail 34-26 after our late push on the weekend in the race to 30.5 points. It was Team World’s first win at the event since 2012.

Team North America continues to trail Team World 13.5 to 4.5.  Saturday marks the introduction of the women’s Team Scramble. Women’s teams will be mixed and no regular front end duo can play together nor can a regular backend duo.

Each game in the Ryder Cup-style tournament was worth points. A total of 60 points could be won with the first team to get to 30.5 being crowned the champion. To see the full results click here

Thanks to all of the fans and volunteers who came out or traveled to Las Vegas for this fun event.

Our next event is the 2019 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts. You can find the full draw and list of teams competing here.  The event will not be televised but we’ll ensure our fans stay updated throughout the provincial championship.

We have more exciting family news!  Joanne and her husband Mark have announced they’re expecting their first child in the summer.  Congratulations to them both!
