Chasing 30.5

TEAM CANADA vs. TEAM EUROPE

We’re back on the ice competing in the unofficial second half of the season.  We’re also back in Alberta which has been a bit of a home away from home for us this season and will continue to be for the next two weeks.

The 2015 World Financial Group Continental Cup is happening this week at Canada’s Olympic Park in Calgary.  We are teamed up with members of teams Jones, Sweeting, Jacobs, Morris, McEwen as Team Canada to take on Team Europe consisting of members from teams Muirhead, Sigfridsson, Sidorova, Edin, Murdoch and Ulsrud.

The format is similar to that of golf’s Ryder Cup and includes several different “disciplines” including skills games, skins games, standard team games, mixed doubles and mixed skins games.  So get your calculator ready as you watch us and our Canadian counter parts chase 30.5 (or more!) points to defeat the Europeans.

Lead by our captain Randy Ferbey and coach Rick Lang, we’ll attempt to repeat as champions at the event.  And what an event it is.  This is a fan favourite as it brings rivals on the ice together as teammates.  Last season we had a blast in Vegas meeting fans and building ties with curlers who we’re usually trying to out-shoot. This year we’ll undoubtedly be the same in Calgary.

TSN will have full coverage of the event and you can find the broadcast schedule here. We'll do our best to keep you apprised of when and in what events you can catch us four competing in throughout the week via our social media channels.  Give us a follow on the right side of this page.

If this weekend keeps you away from the TV then don’t forget we have another exciting weekend coming up next weekend for our very first Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins Game on TSN in beautiful Banff, Alberta.

Winter is in full sweep and the curling vortex has descended on Canadian television sets!
